The Kannada version is produced by Venkatappa and directed by Trishul, It is also titled as "The Dirty Picture".
Veena Mailk plays the lead role in the movie and says that she is very excited about being a part of the movie and that she would get a lot of opportunity to perform. Producer Venkatappa's son Akshay will play the male lead in the movie and the shooting will start soon.
Ekta Kapoor, who produced "The Dirty Picture" in Hindi under her banner Balaji Telefilms, is against the same title being used by Venkatappa.
Director Trishuli says his story is different and that he has written a fresh story and has lot of native elements for the audience of Karnataka. He says that the title has been cleared by KFC and that they are legally entitled to use the title.
